SACGC Global Enrichment scholarship
In line with the strategic goals of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, a subsidiary of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), the SACGC Global Enrichment program offers students the chance to obtain a fully paid scholarship and gain admission to highly ranked international universities. SACGC is supporting five Kuwaiti scholars who are accepted into the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Summer Program 2027 by fully funding their approved program fees.

Approved scholarship module
Innovations in Science & Technology (IST) is designed for students who are interested in learning about diverse topics in the STEM fields and applying scientific principles to real-world applications. Students explore a wide variety of scientific fields such as physics, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, astronomy, engineering, neuroscience, immunology, psychology, and earth science.
Innovations in Science & Technology — The only module approved by SACGC for scholarship funding.
Any other module will not be approved by SACGC for scholarship funding.
Modules and restrictions
Only the Innovations in Science & Technology module is approved for SACGC scholarship funding. Students who are admitted to a different YYGS module are not eligible for SACGC funding for that module.

Application life cycle

Eligibility
Eligibility requirements for the 2027 cycle are to be confirmed by SACGC. Applicants must meet the Yale Young Global Scholars admission requirements in addition to any SACGC eligibility conditions.

Required documents
- YYGS acceptance letter emailed to SACGC.
- Signed declaration/undertaking.
- Copy of the travel visa, provided at least 7 calendar days before the program start.
- Proof of valid health insurance covering the full travel period.
Any further documents are to be confirmed by SACGC.
Funding and costs
SACGC is financially and legally responsible only for the approved program fees and the approved round-trip economy-class airfare to the program destination. The parent/guardian is required to pay the full program fees directly to the university by the deadline specified by the university. The fees are reimbursed after verifying the student's actual enrolment and continued participation in the program. The Center reserves the right to postpone or cancel the reimbursement if the required conditions are not fulfilled.
SACGC does not pay the program fees upfront. Fees are paid by the parent/guardian to the university and reimbursed afterwards, subject to conditions.
Participant responsibilities
- Confirm the student is medically fit and able to travel and participate fully in the program.
- Obtain valid health insurance covering the student for the entire travel period.
- Obtain the student's required travel visa and provide a copy to SACGC at least 7 calendar days before the program start.
- Pay the non-refundable KD 250 administrative fee.
- Attend the required orientation meeting.
- Comply with all rules, regulations, policies, behavioural standards and instructions issued by SACGC, the university and the program organizers.
Terms and conditions
By applying for and participating in the program, students and their parents/guardians agree to the following terms and conditions.
The parent/guardian confirms approval for the student to participate in the approved international enrichment program and to enroll in the designated program at the specified university or institution.
The Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC) is financially and legally responsible only for the approved program fees and the approved round-trip economy-class airfare to the program destination. SACGC will issue the airline ticket only after all required procedures have been completed, including: signing the required declaration/undertaking; obtaining the required travel visa; obtaining valid health insurance; paying the applicable administrative fee; and attending the required orientation meeting.
The parent/guardian is responsible for obtaining the student's required travel visa and providing a copy to SACGC at least 7 calendar days before the start of the program.
A non-refundable administrative fee of KD 250 must be paid to SACGC.
Any additional airline charges or costs resulting from a participant or parent/guardian requesting changes to the travel dates approved by SACGC will be the responsibility of the participant or parent/guardian.
The student and parent/guardian agree that the student's name, photographs, videos, and recordings may be used by SACGC in its media, documentation, and promotional materials without financial compensation, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
If circumstances beyond the student's control prevent or affect participation, including serious illness requiring hospitalization, accidents, war, or natural disasters, official supporting documents must be submitted. SACGC reserves the right to review the case and make the appropriate decision in accordance with its approved regulations.
SACGC reserves the right to monitor the student's conduct and progress throughout the program, either through an appointed representative or through other appropriate means.
During the program, students must stay in the university accommodation or other accommodation designated by SACGC. Where accommodation is included as part of the approved program, its cost will be covered within the program costs borne by SACGC.
Students must comply with all rules, regulations, policies, behavioural standards, and instructions issued by SACGC, the university, and the program organizers. In the event of a violation, SACGC reserves the right to remove the student from the program or terminate participation without bearing any additional financial responsibility.
If an emergency arises that requires the presence of a parent or guardian, the parent/guardian will be responsible for traveling to the student and covering all related costs and expenses.
If the student does not complete the program for a reason not accepted by SACGC, the parent/guardian will be required to reimburse the full program costs incurred by SACGC within 30 days from the date of notification. The signed undertaking will be considered legally binding and enforceable.
Students must follow all instructions issued by SACGC before, during, and after the program. Failure to comply may result in appropriate administrative action.
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait. The competent courts of Kuwait shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to participation in the program.
Important notice
Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. Final participation is subject to eligibility, selection, completion of all required documents and procedures, fulfilment of travel requirements, and compliance with SACGC policies and program conditions.

Interested students should sign up for a YYGS webinar, complete the YYGS application requirements, and email their acceptance letter to SACGC.
